Shersinh decided to join the army. He had to take some basic Geography, History Math etc courses in the army school.

Lieutenant Samratsinh began teaching geography:

“Soldiers, the earth is round”

Shersinh, very respectfully: “No sir, earth cannot be round, or we all would fall”

Lieutenant gave many examples to prove: “Shersinh, when the ship arrives from far in the ocean, first you see its chimney, then the bottom”

But Shersinh was not convinced.

Lieutenant: “They have taken pictures from outside the earth, that proves that the earth is round.”

But Shersinh kept on shaking his head.

Finally lieutenant gave up and went to the captain to report that he could not put in Shersinh’s head that the earth is round.

The captain whispered in lieutenant’s ear. Lieutenant came back to the class and gave an order :

“Soldier Shersinh, Atten……..tion. The captain has ordered that the earth is round”

Shersinh (obediently): “Yesss…………Sir”

Well the correct language is ‘Reverse English’. If you record my English poem Spoor Gatherers! O! in reverse, it will sound like the above video. I am sitting down and reading the poem in the video, so you don’t see the reverse video motion, otherwise it would have been easier to guess!

I was born in a little village in India. Then there was no electricity, no running water, and almost nothing to do after dark. Most of us slept outside. Experiencing and enjoying moonlight was so intense, that today’s generation living in cable TV and internet will not even touch the surface of the ‘Moon-struck’ emotions that we experienced.

When my teacher in the elementary school first taught that the earth was born from the sun, and the moon was separated from the earth during the process, I was fascinated. I first realized that the moon was not a small lamp in the sky, but a huge rock lit by the sun; and looked like a lamp, when a part of earth was in the shadow.

I was curious. I asked the teacher: “In other words, if we were on the moon, and the sunlight fell on the earth, the earth would look like moon, correct?”

Teacher: “yes, and even bigger!”

Remember, this was long before the man had thought about going to moon.

Many times I used to picture myself on the moon, with tiny humans walking around on moon-like, lit earth.

Who knew then, that one day I would go to USA and my first job would be at NASA as an engineer?!

When I was working on the album, ‘  DewDrops on The Oasis’, 

during 2005-06, the feelings revisited. And the song, ‘Full-Earth Nite on the Moon’ was born.

I believe that all the songs in the album are equally good; but in the mind of the listeners, this song is the best, because it has received the maximum number of hits.

Reporter to Chinese authority: When there is a horrific earthquake in your country (Over 200 dead, over 11000 injured), when thousands of people are dying or suffering in millions of square miles of your own territory, as a result of bad pollution; why is the country making headlines by trespassing in to a small inhabitable territory of India?

Chinese Authority: The show must go on. Ha ha.

When I read the above headlines, I could not stop laughing. The wise man from the country says, “We will not warn before we strike”

“Hey you idiot, you already warned by saying that you will not warn!!!” And you have warned, and warned and warned. I can assure you that some of the smartest people in the USA are alert even if you did not warn! They know your intentions. But just because you have intentions, and you have nuclear weapons, carrying out such operation against USA, NATO is like asking your whole country to commit suicide. And if you leaders try to escape to save your own lives, I doubt if any country will let you in.

Here are the facts you may want to consider:

1. This is 2013, not 1960.
2. Communism is practically a history to read in books. So don’t depend on your old allies. They are now capitalists, and supporters of USA. Soviet Union and China were smart. They ended the cold war long time ago, before the bread completely disappear from supermarket shelves, and now they are biggest trading partners of USA. China has invested more money in USA than any other country in the world. Russia at one point wanted to join NATO. Are you living in a cave?
3. USA and NATO have so smart weapons and technology, that your missiles will crash in your own country. That is why no one is taking you seriously.
4. Even Vietnam, after the bloody war of 60′s, has now joined the rest of the western world, and has seen fruits of their cooperation. Learn from them. Only your people in the old communist world are starving, and you are wasting money on weapons, instead of feeding your people. The days of treading ‘threats for bread’ are over. No one has been stupid enough to use the nuclear weapons, even during the worst days of the cold war. (When they were used for the first and only time, no one else had them!) If you try, think what will be left in your country, including you leaders.
5. Don’t forget what happened to some dictators in very recent history.

In 21st century, no country can live in isolation. No country can threaten other countries. There is no such thing as ‘A country’s Economy’. This is the era of  ‘The World Economy’. Those who will join the world in business and education will be welcome, and will survive. The rest will starve or will perish.

If you can be rich by shaking hands, why get hurt by pulling a sword?

Mohan was a purist Indian boy. He strongly believed in old Indian values. He went to USA for study, got his Green Card and found a job. He thought he should get married and settle down.

Sandra was his coworker, who looked interested in him. But he strongly believed that American girls could never be pure (Virgin).

He came to Mumbai, the big city, to get married with a pure Indian girl. His parents knew this very pretty college graduate girl. After talking with her, he thought that the modern college girls in big cities of India were spoiled. He rejected the offer.

His uncle invited him to a smaller town, and introduced a pretty high school graduate girl. But he was not convinced that the girl could be pure.

Finally the family approached a priest of their ancestral small village, and asked him to find a girl for Mohan.

The priest found this very beautiful 14 years old girl Sona. She had only 4th grade education, but seemed smart. She wore traditional Indian clothes, did all the religious observances, picked berries from farms, and all other stuff that convinced Mohan that the girl was pure. Without a moment’s hesitation, he agreed to marry Sona.

Mohan took her for the honeymoon to Shimla.

After few days of fun, Sona asked, “This is very nice and everything, but when are we going to do the honeymoon that you were talking about?”

Mohan smiled and said, “Sweetheart, what we are doing, mostly in the bed, is the honeymoon.

Sona laughed loudly and innocently, “Oh, this is what you call honeymoon? We used to do this in the village farms, behind the bushes, all the time!!!!”
